South-Thailand and Malaysia

A trouble-free cycle route for those who want to get in touch with Asian adventure in a mild way. The daily cycling distances are reasonable, the area through which you cycle is fairly flat to slightly hilly and with occasional hills. The people are very friendly and helpful. The biggest advantage of this cycling route is contact with two different cultures: the Thai and Malaysian.

Explore the freedom!

You will start off by cycling from Nai Yang Beach to Sarasin Bridge, the bridge that connects the island of Phuket with the mainland. You will cycle almost immediately along small roads, past villages, and fields.

We made sure you cycle on small, quiet roads, but if there is no alternative, you follow the main road. There are almost always separate side lanes for slow traffic.

You will be introduced to beautiful beaches, typical Thai cities, stunning karst mountains rising from the sea, interesting, colorful villages, tropical rain forests, and various fascinating islands.

After having experienced Thai culture and nature, you cross to Langkawi, Malaysia, by boat. We advise you to stay here for a few days, so you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and the cycle tour we have planned on the island. From Langkawi you cross the mainland by boat.

You continue the cycle route to Penang. It is also possible to cross by boat directly from Penang to Langkawi.

Penang, with its capital Georgetown, is sometimes referred to as “Malaysia in small”: you will find Malay, Chinese and Indian culture here. Reserve one day for the cycle tour we have set out on Penang: this tour will give you a good impression of the island and will take you to beautiful sights.

This route is very suitable for getting to know Asia for the first time. There is nothing short of nature, culture, and adventure!

You can also fly back from Langkawi.
The cycle route can be combined with our other cycle routes: “Central Thailand” or “The Khao Route” and “Malaysia Coast to Coast” or “Malaysia West-Coast”.
We are happy to help you!
