Explore the freedom!

Upon arrival at Penang, you will experience and enjoy different cultures. Take a look around Chinatown and visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. Reserve one day for the cycle tour we have set out on Penang: this tour will give you a good impression of the island and will take you to beautiful sights. After getting to know the island, you take the ferry to the mainland, where the bike tour starts.

First, you start by driving a bit inland, after which you spend the night in Kuala Kangsar, the former residence of the sultans of Perak. The tour continues along Taiping, famous for its beautiful park and historic buildings. You may also spend the night on Maxwell Hill, the oldest hill resort in Malaysia.

You follow the picturesque river Perak to Lumut, where you can sail to the tropical island of Pulau Pangkor for a few wonderful days at the beach.

After a trip to a luxurious resort on the Perak, you will head back to the coast and continue to Klang. From Klang you can easily make a trip to Kuala Lumpur or arrange transportation to the airport should your trip end here.

Another highlight is the colorful city of Melaka, where you can admire various Dutch historic buildings. You can spend the night in a beautifully restored hotel in Chinatown, in the middle of the “colonial district”.

The tour continues along the coast to the small fishing town of Pontian Kechil.

After which you will approach the border of Singapore. Enjoy Singapore for a few more days, before you fly back to Amsterdam!

After your trip, you will have become acquainted with the rich history of West Malaysia, the friendly people, and the delicious food.

You can also start this journey on Langkawi.
