Explore the freedom!
Upon arrival at Penang, you will experience and enjoy different cultures. Take a look around Chinatown and visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. Reserve one day for the cycle tour we have set out on Penang: it will give you a good impression of the island.

After getting to know the island you take the ferry to the mainland. On your first day, after leaving the urban area, you pass through small kampongs with many rice fields, rubber and oil plantations. You will cycle through villages where people live a simple lifestyle. At the end of the day, you will arrive in Sungai Petani, the last large city before you reach Kota Bharu which is the end of the journey. After a few days of cycling, you have the opportunity to relax at the hot springs of Ulu Legong, located in a beautiful nature area, with jungle and monkeys around you. In this area, you can take guided tours through the jungle, past waterfalls and caves by the original people of Malaysia.
Following, the East-West Highway will take you over the ridge and beyond a vast reservoir area with beautiful views. Don’t be surprised if a small elephant herd crosses the road. The last two day trips will take you through a flatter area with small roads and kampongs. While making your way to your accommodation on the coast, you will pass through the lively Islamic city of Kota Bharu. You can cycle our kampong route, along the crocodile lagoon, the sea, and the river. This is a nice end to your cycling holiday. If you want to dive, swim or snorkel, you can leave your bike at the resort and take a trip to the Perhentian Islands, two islands in the South China Sea where you will once again meet westerners.
