Explore the freedom!
The route first takes you to Khong Chiam, beautifully situated on the Mekong. From here you can take a day trip to Pha Taem National Park. This park is famous for its age-old rock paintings.
Here you will have a stunning view over the Mekong.

In Laos, the route will take you over the little-visited Bolaven plateau and to the “Four Thousand Islands” in the Mekong.
The islands are a suitable place to relax and enjoy the sun and water for days on end.
A (photo) hunt for the Mekong dolphins is one of the possible trips here. Canoe through the waterfalls and cycle along the old French railroad tracks. But a day of “hammocks” is, of course, an attractive option as well.
Finally, the route takes you through the “Emerald Triangle” in Thailand, which is hardly visited by tourists. In short, a journey that offers a lot.
Except for a small bit of the route, the roads are well paved. The route is mostly flat, sometimes slightly hilly. Only on the Bolaven plateau, you will sometimes have to climb, usually 2-4% on average.
